Climbing the Mountain
Are you still climbing the mountain, or are you contented with where you are at? Perhaps you are discouraged at how far you still have to go and are you are no longer pressing on. Perhaps you see no reason to go further and pursue the deeper things of God. Friends - he who sows in tears will reap in joy eventually. There is a time delay between the sowing and the harvest. That is the miracle of a seed. If you take the time and energy and the suffering to get the ground prepared and to get the seed into the ground, and then you continue to surround the seed with the most basic elements for a sustained time, the harvest is sure to be on its way. You may have to brave the environment to remove rocks from the ground and to chase away birds and beasts that come periodically to prey on the seed. You may have to pull weeds from the ground, and continue to pour essential water on it. But, if there is diligence and perseverance coupled with the hand of God, the harvest is sure to come, and you together with many others will enjoy the produce.Zimbabwe is a fledging country in so many ways. It is really only 30 years old next year. This is an infant country. We have been so close to infant mortality, yet as we are vigilant in whatever capacity that God has given us to perform the essentials of sowing and culturing the seeds. We will ensure a secure future ahead of us. God is faithful and will watch over His word to perform it. If you feel that you lack see, there is good news. See 2 Cor 9:10-11:
“10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness; 11 you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.”
God will multiply your seed, just as you multiplied the loaves and the fishes! We must just present the little that we have and trust God for the rest.
Some of you have probably asked what you can do for Zimbabwe? There are 3 immediate things I can suggest. Firstly and foremost is prayer (in faith). This is your foundation. Secondly, you can respond out of this by supporting missions within Zim such as through pentecostfire.org and other ministries that are local or external. You may moreover be part of a third group that feel you have something to personally contribute. It might just seem like a few loaves and 2 fishes. But this is the most basic seed, that the Lord Himself will multiply to feed the multitudes. Take courage today and start at step 1 and go where He sends you!
Blessings in this week ahead.
